Our team has tested the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime for more than a week and we are really loving it. Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime is officially available in Nepal through Vatsal Implex, the authorized distributor of Xiaomi phones in Nepal. The price of Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime in Nepal is Rs. 23,500 and is available through all Mi stores as well as authorized Xiaomi distributors.
I will be completely honest here. Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime looks like any other Xiaomi phone and there’s nothing very exciting in particular about the phone. That’s not a bad thing though. The phone feels and looks really good for the price. You can compare the build quality to that of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Redmi Pro as well as the Xiaomi Mi 5s. All the buttons are logically laid out. The fingerprint scanner is at the back and it works impressively. I can confidently say that it is faster than that on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and comparable to that of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime has a compact dimension and still manages to house a big 4100mAh battery. The display size is at 5″ and people will small hands will certainly love this phone.
The other thing I like about the hardware of the Redmi 4 Prime is the inclusion of the IR blaster at the top of the phone. You can control electronic peripherals like TV’s, ACs, Microwave oven, projectors straight from your phone!
If there’s something I really love about the phone, it has to be the screen size and the quality of display in the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime. With this phone, what you are getting is an excellent 5-inch 1080p IPS LCD Display. Sure, I have seen better displaces but nothing in this price range. The colors are punchy and the screen is really sharp. Comparing the display side-by-side to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and, Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime and the Mi5, I liked the display of the Redmi 4 Prime the most. In short, you won’t be disappointed by the display of the phone.
The performance of the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime is really good. The phone packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC which is coupled with 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB storage on-board and is user expandable. In our initial testing, we found the performance to be quite good and on-par with the Redmi Note 4. We will heavily test the phone further to give you detailed impressions of how it performed.
Overall, we think that Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime is a great buy. Sure, you can buy it in cheaper elsewhere but it still is a good buy at the asking price of Rs. 23,500 here in Nepal. There’s no other product that matches the specs and the quality of the phone in this price range. However, keep in mind though, the camera in this phone isn’t all that great. If you are into taking selfies and things of that sort, you may want to look elsewhere. We are yet to test the device fully. So stay tuned in for that.
As always thanks for reading this post. This was our initial impressions of the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime. Full review of the phone coming shortly.
